Gordon Chung - London 2012 Xmas

During my trip to London, the fine art tutor's arranged a fantastic oppertunity to meet with a Gordon Chung to which we were able to see where and how he worked. I found his concepts and techniques very interesting. His work uses mixed media, with interesting techniques such as layers of collage, unusual painting techniques and highly pixelated photographs as well as charred newspaper being moulded  with glue into what looked like long pieces of drift wood.

'Going For a Walk with a Line'

 Another day project were we reflected character and physical attribrutes in continuous lines - blind drawn, only look at the model and not at the page, left handed until the point it actually felt natural and without ever taking the pencil/graphite of the page. The techniques are similiar to those used by Matisse in his drawings. And later we transfered this technique of continuous lines on to Wire Portraits.

Inside Out - Illustration

'Onside out' was a day long project to which we explored creating illustrations that reflected physical attributes and inner character of our group models, only using 3D objects available in to class room.
For exampe the comone theme between all my group members, they loved Falmouth, the sea, collect seashells and othe rbits and bobs, and like Harry Potter. So I uses alot brown buttons and yellow buttons to reflect one of the subjects physical attribute (brown and blond highlighted hair), and bits &bobs you'd commonly see washed up along the coastline.
