Hello there!
I'm very sorry I haven't been very up to date with my artistic doings over the summer but I've been VERY busy. Some pretty amazing things have happened to me since finishing my Foundation in Art and Design. I've since been part of many stale festival for Vintage and Craft specialist buildings such as The Nichols Building, Sheffield.
I've since also been very involved in designing and crafting my own successful line of Ceramic Jewellery where I aimed to give new life and purpose to broken ceramic pieces I'd collected whilst beach combing in Sunny Cornwall.
I've also been busy designing my own fabric in America!
My most recent large scale paper cut Framed Antler ' Flora and Fauna' are also currently on display in Corterie Gallery, Sheffield from the 1st October to the 31st.
For those interested in seeing my work in person I have provide a link below with all the information you'd need such as the address and opening times.

Hope to see you there!
Sincerely
Alex

The Combination of Fauna with Flora
Here I aimed to fill in the silhouette of the Deer and Antlers, I wanted to bring in the Floral patter I developed with fine liner.
Observational Collage
Probably the most morbid work I've every produced, as the design was taken from observation of a 'presumed' deceased mouse laying on the water bank that cuts through my local Park. In this piece, I just utilises collage (scrap bits) from my primary made imagery to create this form.
'Pattern in Fauna' Felt Tip
This is a small observational piece to which is focused on the simplistic pattern I could see from textures on animals skin, using felt tips and primary colours.

Campaign Poster - VOTE PAIGE
Being asked to design a student union votes campaign poster, commencing in
Dundee, I was really pleased to how it came out even under such a short deadline.
I tried to keep the deign quite minimalist in detail so as to make communication simple and easy, and I combined the imagery with a hand rendered style text so as to give the design a person touch (as to which was the theme: personal).
Mixed media:
Collage and line drawing, enhanced digitally.

'The Yellow wallpaper' Coverbook
Here is a book cover design inspired by the insane poetic style within.
All of the elements have been drawing or cut form observational drawings, later enhanced on Photoshop.

'The Sequential Image' - My Proposal
Flora and Fauna
I aim to create a sequence of images that will illustrate
the flora and fauna of my immediate outdoor environment. I want to approach
this project with a magpie tactic. Sketching and doodling plants and animals in
their natural habitat.
I will work in a range of medias; Line drawings, watercolour,
silhouette and texture collage (which I favour for its graphic quality). I also
aim to produce a series of expressive collagraph and lino prints, to demonstrate
character and rustic setting with strong composition. By the end of the project
I will hopefully have produced a number of pieces featuring different floral and
animal habitats with narrative; from bird frolicking in a tree to snails braving
the long stretch of patio despite the fear of nearby birds.
Mark Hearld and Julia McKenzie, who are both print makers
and collage fanatics, are a key influence to my idea as their method of work
expresses a love for the English Countryside and for illustrating the adventure
and freedom within Wild life. Like these artists, I want to encourage people,
children to adults, to get out of their own habitats and look beyond to that of
others in the wild.
'Fresh Paint' Windows 8 - Digital Finger Paintings
Fresh Paint is a digital method of painting much like IPad drawings (if just a bit more difficult and limited) and is just as fun. Here are a few of my simplistic sketch's, mainly figurative and facial.
