Grayson Perry - Applied Art / Ceramics

I was introduced to Grayson Perry's work on his TV show featured on Channel 4, 'In The Best Possible Taste', where he focused on translating the conflicts and similarities of the social classes in his ceramics/pottery and tapestries. In his style he transforms items that are common in both social classes such as the vase and rugs, and makes them in to focal points in the room rather than letting them fade away in to the interior design  of the living room. He does this by using such items as vases as his canvas thus giving the product a whole new meaning and function.
