Angie Lewin - Illustration and Print Making

Angie Lewin - The Yellow Cup
Angie Lewin experiments with lino cuts, etchings and wood block prints to creat illustrative pieces that can be transferable to textile / fashion areas. she also uses other such medias as paint and water colours to draw out the basis of her designs which are in them selves works of art as well as the 'stamps' she has developed. I really like Lewin's style in prints, how she uses such vibrant colour schemes, focusing on everday objects and organic objects combined to create a domesticated scheme. I also find it interesting how she has converted the textures on the objects and converted them in to patterns, creating an intricate flat format.  I have seen her work before finding her again in the 'illustration' magazine autumn 2007 edition, advertising her exhibition and have tried to create an independent study in her style using fine liner.
